Pench Tiger Reserve is situated in both Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra states, India. 90% area of the Tiger Reserve park is located in the Madhya Pradesh. 10% area of the Tiger Reserve park lies in Maharashtra
Travelling through the Pench jungles it is a good experience. Pench has leopards, tigers, nilgai, wild boars, wild dog, indian wolf, porcupine, jungle cat, monkeys, gaur, four-horned antelope, fox, striped hyena and deer live in a park.
There are 04 different areas in Pench Turia area, Karmajhiri area, Wolf Sanctuary, Rukhad area, Jamtara area National Park to do Jeep Safari. Limited access jeeps are allowed into the national park at every turn. This is done to avoid overcrowding in national parks.
In Khawasa, a small town on National Highway 7 from Nagpur to Jabalpur, you will see a sign for Pench National Park 12 km away, take this metalloid road through a beautiful teak forest. You will pass some small towns along the way. Finally, you reach the village of Avarghani, the direction to Pench is clear and you have to go to the gate of Turia, which is about 1.5 km from this town. Climb into the open jeep and after completing your procedure at the gate enter the park.
Best time to Visit - The good period to take the safaris in Pench national park is from end of October till end of June. The months of April to June is the good time to see the Tiger and other wild animals as they come out to drink the water in various holes. Pench Park safari is closed during the 16th June to 30th September for the tourists.
